The Normal Routine - NightTime (part 1 of 3)
Tuesday 25th April 2000

After tea, everybody is free to choose what they want to do from the many and varied things to choose from. Many people have hobbies like Trevor who is building a model plane in the "hobbies" room in the Red Shed, while others just like to relax and read a book or watch a video. We have nearly twice as many rooms in the Red Shed than are required so everybody has a spare room to store things and do hobbies.

One of my favourite hobbies is photography. We have a full dark room where we can process black & white film as well as reversal film (slides). I get a lot of satisfaction out of spending an hour or so to prepare the chemicals, load the film and then go through the chemical processing steps to discover that a picture I took the other day turned out as well as I had hoped. Most people bring down a large cache of film & paper. I brought down at least 120 rolls of colour slide film and I expect to use it all. We can also process B&W negatives, paper prints and colour prints from slides (using the Cibachrome process).

On the games side of things we have a pool table and two dart boards in the recreation areas which are used for both friendly games and competitions and as the year progresses the competition increases because it is easy to get some practice!

I never used to play darts before I came down, but now I know all the tricks of the trade minus the skill! Card games are also popular.
